The food here is okay, it's not the best. It's probably 3-star food. The place is nice though and I like the view of the river. The interior and the food could stand a slight upgrade and they could make more of this restaurant location.

We came here for the first and possibly, the last time. Before we even sat down, the server asked us what we wanted to rink. I ordered Pepsi and my wife, root beer. As we were looking at the menu, the server brought 2 glasses filled with ice and a can of Pepsi and can of A&W root beer. ( So no free refills! )
We each ordered ribs which came with fries and a small cup of Cole slaw. The ribs were covered with BBQ sauce that had just been poured on them. The ribs had probably been boiled and had no smoky flavor what's over. The sauce made it very messy to eat. The only positive was the fries were good. Very disappointing.

Stopped a week ago. I has been awhile since my wife and I had been there. Not by choice but from out of town. We eat out a lot and one of our favorite things to do. We try to not get stuck on one place too much. We have eaten at the River's Edge quite a few times and it has always been good food and plenty of it at a good price. Salad bar and soup are always adequate. The multiple windows allowing an unobstructed view of Rock River is a drawing card. The "Pick Three" menu selection is the best way to go!. The only hang up we have is the dingy carpet throughout. Make a person not want to look down. Everything else including the windows are clean. Please folks, put in new carpet!!!!!

Casual family restaurant with basic good food. Waitresses are usually friendly. Waitresses very attentive. Never have an empty cup of coffee. I suppose if someone disrespected a waitress in this small town, they might receive inferior service. From my observation, the local ladies are not hesitant to reject abusive behavior.

This was my first time visiting this restaurant (along with my husband and friend) and I found it very enjoyable. The view of the river was amazing. There was a little bit of a wait for our food but that was because there was a huge table that was having a party before we arrived. The waitress was very social and pleasant and apologized for the wait, and the owner which is a friend of mine came out an apologized as well for the wait. When are food arrived it was definitely worth the wait because it was delicious!! The price was very reasonable for what we got (we were stuffed and took food home) I will visit again and I will recommend this place to all my friends and not just because I know the owner, but because it is good food at a good price and pleasant wait staff!!!

the wait for a hamburger was an hour, the food was burnt, the waitress had a bad attitude, there was no hand washing in between taking dirty dishes to bringing people food. people were served before us that arrived after us. The food was bland. It was not a good experience.
