This neighborhood dive bar in Alton has an authentic, welcoming vibe where hardworking folks come to unwind with great bar food, lively conversation, and friendly faces like the ever-kind bartender Chris. The menu offers a fantastic mix of fried and finger foods, including the best beer cheese soup I've ever tasted, all at prices that don't break the bank. Penny's cooking, with its Louisiana flair, keeps the flavors coming strong, and the atmosphere feels like a warm slice of local history every time I walk through the door.

I've been a regular at this place for years and it never disappoints. The food is always on point, the staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is full of history. It's a great spot to unwind and enjoy some delicious food and drinks.
