BEWARE! There are many good, honest restaurants that serve Mexican food in Irving and the DFW area -- La Cueva is NOT one of them. They advertise in large letters on their sign a $6.00 lunch special. After you have ordered your drink and ask for one of the lunch specials, you are told that the specials are not available today and that you will need to order off the regular lunch menu. When you find an item on the lunch menu, point to it and order it, they will bring you the item. When presented the bill,the price is 15% higher than the menu listing. Yes, lunch is served until 3:00 PM, but ALL the lunch items listed are not available on Saturday, even though you have just consumed one of them. The best thing I can say about La Cueva is that I did not get food poisoning there. With their dishonest pricing, why would anyone ever want to give them second chance? And the help does get angry when you question their deceptive trade practices!
