First time ordering from Edgar's was quite disappointed. The strawberry cake my family has bought has been great the couple times I've tasted it, so I got one for my birthday dinner last month while I was in town. I ordered a round cake and 12 cupcakes with the order design. I ordered the cake online weeks before my birthday. Since it was my first online order with them, I contacted the next day to confirm. The agent said my order was fine, but we double-checked everything. A 10” round pink ombre rosette strawberry cake was all I wanted. I then ordered another dozen cupcakes on the same call and agreed that using the cake's ombre colors would be beautiful and possible.

On my birthday, my friend and I picked it up and opened a solid rosette cake and a dozen ombre cupcakes, including the ladies upfront. The strange thing is that the order notes and receipt attached to the cake clearly stated that the rosette design was added but not the ombre color. No one could correct it in time for my birthday dinner while we were at the store. Disappointed, I tried to make things work for my birthday and guests.

The ladies gave me Brett’s, the “manager”, number. I contacted him but he said he was out of the office and to give my info to Ashley at the store, which I did. First and final time I spoke to him. I told her everything and I guess he went to investigate. She contacted me back several times that day, but I got the impression that she was trying to find every excuse to blame me and not the baker or staff for the mistake that could have been avoided by paying attention to the notes. She even said someone should have called me a few days earlier to confirm. Since then, no follow-up contact,email, or apology and it made me feel unappreciated as a customer. My bank is handling this dispute.

The strawberry cake was nice but not what I wanted. I would never trust them with a custom cake for an important event, but they are okay for simple cakes. I would not return or recommend them.
