Don't know why all the bad reviews. We ate there in February with a group of 21. Food was great and the waitress was excellent. Try the tenderloin!

Last night was the second time we'd gone there. The first time it was good. Last night the other shoe fell. While 3 girls were just holding up the wall up by the front door, we waited FOREVER to get our drink order taken, and another forever for them to bring them. When it did come, my glass of wine was very puny. Great big glass with next to nothing in it. I could have spit more than was in the glass! He finally took our dinner order & we about went to sleep waiting for our food to come. And it was NOT busy in there! The pork ribs were overcooked, dry & tough. Looking at everything, especially the horrible service, we'll never go back! We drove 40 miles to get there! We'll go to LaCarrita's next time. I see other postings here about the horrible service. No wonder!

Those folks who didn't like eating at the Goat should give it another try. The chicken strips are excellent.

Good food and good service for us several times.

When this place first opened, the food was good, the service was good and the prices were fair.

The second time we went, the steaks were just OK, the service was good, the prices were fair.

The third time we were there, the steak wasn;t that great, my wife's french dip was cold, the cheese wasn't even melted, the waitress took it, was gone forever, fibnally got someone to check on it, came back warm, had obviously been nuked, so the food was lousy, the service was lousy, but the price was the same.

So OK, one more shot, had family come down from Fort Dodge and Webster City, the sign on their door says open till 9:00PM on Sunday, we were there at 5:45PM, another family was just leaving, said they were closed but people were drinking in the bar.

Sure enough, people were watching some game and drinking the bar, doors were locked, we called the numner on the door, oh yeah they say, we changed to summer hours, just haven't put it on the door yet.

This place is a complete joke, for as short a time as it's been open, to slide down hill that fast is ridiculous. At this rate they won;t be open for long.

We went to the goat yesterday 2/11/2010 for my Mom's B-day and had the second worst meal I have ever had at a restaurant bested only by the first time we ate there. The service was horrible. It took almost 45 minutes from the time our appetizer arrived to when our meals finally arrived. Only to have every one of them be cold. I ordered the rib eye steak and the outside was burnt black and the inside was stone cold. It also did not have one once of seasoning on it. My potato was cold and rubbery and flavorless. All the rest of the meals were equally bad, meaning cold and flavorless. When we told the waitress she did offer to get the manager, but we were already eating on a gift certificate from our first horrible experience there...so what was the pint we will never be back. This was after giving them a solid 5-6 months to get it together. Our waitress then said and I quote "wow, we really need to fire that chef this happen all the time" I would save the money and frustration and go to McDonald's at least they are consistent. Yes, it really is that bad!!!!!

Been there several times on weekends and it has been the best. Only time to avoid is Hawkers game days as the crowd is a little rowdy in the Sports bar if you are not a Hawk fan.

I have been there 3-4 times an have never had good service, the food was slow and cold when we got it. I have been tremendously disappointed in the whole place. Seems like everyone I talk to doesn't like the service and their food is also cold and not that good.

I was there only once and was not impressed. The town did not need another bar, that can do short orders, we needed a good restaurant. The girls I was with and I ordered horderves and I about died when I saw the portions for the price. WOW we will not be back. that is crazy.

My husband & I have been here twice and LOVED it both times! We never experienced slow service and the food was fantastic! The second time we went was with our parents and grandparents and kids. We were seated right away and our drink orders were taken immediately. We did not have to wait long after we ordered for our food and there were quite a few customers in the restaurant. We are going back for the third time tonight! Absolutely love the food!!

The first time I visited the Giggling Goat, the service was slow. Since it was newly opened, I understood that the staff was working out the process to be more efficient. I have since eaten there two more times, and each time it is faster and better service. The things I have tried on the menu are delicious and the price is reasonable too. I am thankful that Boone has this new restaurant!

We went to this place because it was new and supposed to be a treat. We were told to be seated in the bar area and someone would be with us right away and half an hour later we didn't even have a glass of water in front of us although the woman with two little kids who came twenty minutes after us had drinks, an appetizer and every waitress in the area cooing over her kids. We also told someone why we were leaving, no sorry, no gee we wish we hadn't wasted your time. Nothing. Not a chance we will be back and every person we talk to will know what happened.

Tried the Gigglin' Goat on 7-11. Taken to our table by hostess immediately with menus and that was it. Never found out who our waiter/waitress was as no one ever came to take our order. We finally just left. They really weren't that busy and they seemed to not have a lack in staff. We were very disappointed. Told someone on our way out what happened. Never even received a "sorry" They didn't seem to care

The people that posted poor reviews need to go back for a 2nd visit. I would think most people would understand that service is usually a little slower than desired when a restaurant first opens. Give them some time to get things rolling. They recently replaced the restaurant manager, which was a great idea in my opinion. The new manager really seems professional and experienced. This place has a lot of potential. I've visited twice from Ames in the last 2 weeks and have been very satisfied. The wait and kitchen staff is improving all the time. Boone is lucky to have an establishment like this. I hope people get out and support it.

I visited the Gigglin Goat despite negative reviews from a co-worker. I found that I should have headed her advice. The wait staff are slow and provide very poor service. Additionally it took close to an hour to receive our order. The only reason I would go back is for the Diablo Pasta. If you are a very patient person who has time for slow service you will enjoy your visit but most people will have a poor experience due to poor management of both waitstaff and time management of the chef/cooks.
