Whenever we're back in Mason City, hitting up Pete's Kitchen is a must because the food and service have stayed consistently awesome even under new ownership. The sandwiches are stacked high with fresh, homemade ingredients, and the desserts-especially the chocolate eclair-are downright irresistible. Pete himself is a character who takes pride in his craft, from baking the bread to showing off his classic '48 Chevy, making every visit feel like a warm local adventure.

Whenever we swing back into town, my husband insists on a meal at Pete's. We discovered that it's now under new management - but the delicious sandwiches and friendly service remain unchanged! I couldn't resist trying the chili and cinnamon roll special after spotting it on their Facebook page - and boy, was it a treat!
