Exploring Iowa means embarking on a quest for the ultimate pork tenderloin experience. Fresh off the plane, I find myself face to face with my first tenderloin, its generous 1-inch overhang a promising sign of deliciousness. The perfectly fried pork, juicy and flavorful, is complemented by crisp lettuce and diced tomato, though I personally prefer the simplicity of iceberg lettuce and sliced tomato. And to round off this culinary journey, a quart of creamy vanilla ice cream is a must, especially when paired with a warm, homemade pie.
