During my time working in Cedar Rapids, I experienced a transition from the old bar to Bricks, which has managed to thrive independently despite challenges. The interior boasts charming brick walls and a compelling vibe, creating a unique atmosphere for patrons. I was particularly impressed by the smoked wings, which were perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor, making them a must-try for anyone visiting.

Bricks, formerly known as Kurtz when I worked there, has maintained its independence from the building owner and has thrived in that unique relationship. The small venue struggles with turnover but boasts a respectable kitchen and bar equipment. Despite some challenges, the interior with brick sidewalls and old signs creates a compelling atmosphere worth experiencing.
