During a family road trip from Philly to Chicago, we made a detour to let our son meet a friend he had gamed with online for years. We stayed at a hotel that, despite a rough exterior, surprised us with its clean, renovated rooms and excellent amenities, including a warm pool and comfortable beds, which made for a pleasant experience overall.
