I wanted to spend a minute & tell about my experience at Varanasi's in Kingstown, RI. First off, on 6/27/11 my wife & I are from Montreal City, Canada & were on vacation staying at Foxwoods resorts & casino in Conneticut for the week. We wanted to visit the beaches in Rhode Island and while driving by the campus at URI we spotted a cute, cozy eatery called Varanasi's. We went in & the owner immediately noticed our accents & started jokin with us. I've never eaten Indian food before & he gave us sample after sample, letting us try many different things. Wow, I'll tell you this, for an Italian guy doing the cooking, it was amazing. After 10 minutes of sampling we decided on our meal. Again, it was fantastic. Not only was the food good, the owners personality was even better. Watching him interact with all the college kids was really funny. He pretty much knew every one of the customers by name, which to me told me that they were repeat customers & If we didn't live 7 1/2hrs away would be as well. The best part of the meal was when we were done eating & the owner patted me on the back & said "Welcome to RI pal, I hope you guys enjoyed my resturant & our little state. Lunch was on me"...That's the type of customer service that can't be teached. And that's the type of business that keeps all these regulars & college kids coming back..I would recommend Varanasi's to anyone looking for a fantastic meal & unbelievable customer service at an affordable price..Thank you again, Greg..Blessings to you & your resturant.

Great tasting food at reasonable prices..Chicken Curry was to die for. Very personable staff..Even the dish washer was very polite to us. We would go back in a minute.

Never had Indian food, was a little skeptical. Left there very satisfied. Give it a try. Very good food, good prices & pretty cool staff.
