After a year away, I visited Jim's and found the food to be excellent, especially their chicken and chicken fried steak. The establishment has undergone a remodel, and the atmosphere is welcoming, with continuous customer traffic during my visit. I enjoyed the chicken n' pastry special, while my wife loved her fried shrimp, and we appreciated the friendly service and generous portions throughout our meal.

We try to go to Jim's whenever we are in Salina. Love their chicken and noodles, chicken fried steak and chicken fried chicken. Always hot food. Salad bar though small has an amazing number of toppings. Always found the staff friendly and manager is very nice.
The only thing we don't like is silverware is kept in glasses that set on the table. I'm not thrilled using something that others might have touched or even used and returned to glass. Thinking of children and how curious they are to touch everything. All in all we love the food.

My last two visits have left me with a negative attitude toward Jim's. 1st I had trouble with a gift certificate acceptance. Today I saw on their web page buy 1 two piece chicken dinner get 2nd for 99 cents. They denied their own web page. That's my last time I go to Jim's. 2 strikes and your out. Neither time was the owner on site.
