The food here is amazing, especially the homemade cinnamon rolls and bread, which are a must-try. Despite being super busy on a Sunday morning, the quality of the dishes and the friendly service make it worth the visit!

During a weekend trip to explore the Tallgrass Prairie, I discovered a quaint cafí© in Council Grove that served the most delicious homemade cinnamon rolls and bread. Despite the bustling Sunday morning crowd, the food was piping hot and satisfying, making it a memorable breakfast experience that I can't wait to share with family and friends.

AWESOME

I have traveled to Council Grove several times this year. Each time I go I try a different restaurant for dinner. I was generally disappointed with each one. Tonight, I tried the Saddlerock Cafe and was very impressed. The waitresses were very friendly-checking back with me several times to see if I wanted anything. The food was hot and quickly prepared. And the food was good. The restaurant was full. The Saddlerock reminded me of a sale barn restaurant in my hometown. Except the Saddlerock's selection is much larger. You can't go wrong with this restaurant.

This is the best kept secret to tourists coming through Council Grove. There are a number of restaurants in the downtown and on the highway, but this gem is tucked away in the industrial part of town near the what used to be the railroad tracks. It is a standard farm-town diner with outstanding food and service at least as good, if not better, than any of the other restaurants in town. Unlike many of the other places in town, a good deal of the food at Saddleroock is home made. This includes some outstanding breads. They are open for breakfast and lunch most days and for dinner on Thursday nights. If you do want to go to dinner there then get there early - they are generally packed in and they close at something like 7:30. But, it is well worth it for some great breakfast or comfort food.
