I noticed Max's has a "For Sale by Owner" sign now, which makes me hope the owners are doing alright since it was such a well-loved spot. During my visit, I was impressed by the friendly service and delicious diner-style food, especially the biscuits and gravy, which I can't wait to enjoy again on my next trip to Fort Scott.
