Always good food

On Nov. 23rd we dropped in for a late breakfast. I've lived in Downers for 26 years and try to patronize local businesses. The egg special was very good. My lady and I were commenting on returning at some future date. All was fine until Judy finished her coffee. In the bottom of her cup was a paper sweetener packet. She was horrified. She then mentioned to me that she had seen that the coffee creamer was dirty but she didn't want to make a fuss about it. I asked the waitress to let the manager know. The waitress returned a few minutes later with the bill from which the price of the coffee had been deducted. I don't fight with folks so we paid the bill and left. I figure that if a manager can't be bothered to at least check in with the customer that it's not my job to train them. Food was great. Service was very good. Experience? Left a bad taste in my mouth.
