All prices are reasonable except I was charged $1.69 for a cup of tap water. Cashier stated that water came from coke machine.....lol.. SO WHAT!!!!!!!!!!! They only have a large styrofoam cup. MOST ELDERLY ONLY DRINK WATER AND A SMALL AMOUNT. WHY NOT CHARGE 50 CENTS FOR THE CUP OR HAVE A SMALLER PLASTIC CUP.

THE FOOD IS RATED MORE THAN FIVE STARS IT IS SO GOOD I COULD NOT WAIT TO ORDER AGAIN TODAY IT IS PAST 10 STAR RATING. WE ARE DIS PLACE FROM HURRICANE LAURA FROM LAKE CHARLES AND DISCOVERED THIS WONDERFUL PLACE .

We found the staff to be very friendly. Told them we were travelers. Food is the best!!! Cornbread dressing is my favorite! Portions are very generous. We are quite white, from Calif. and were treated with the utmost respect! Maybe because we respected the hard working staff in kind. This will be our go to place every year when we visit!

My whole family loves this place! We discovered it when their burger beat out about 50 others from all around Lafayette in a private competition. We tried a plate lunch and we were HOOKED! Absolutely everything we've had from there has been beyond excellent and better than any other plate lunch in town! Their service has been stellar every time. Miss Mary is the best!
Yes. The place closes at 2. Most plate lunch places do. Do not judge this place from the other guy's grumpy review.
You will not be disappointed if you go when they're open!

I haven't eaten at the cafe but I did buy a pie at Don's Specialty Meats on friday 11/20/09 and I wish I had gotten more.Please let me know if there is any way that I can get more by ordering.I live in Texas and we were just passing through stop in for some cracklins and got a pie.Love Shirley's pie.She should have this on lline she would do well selling her pies.Hope we can get some.
