I ordered the fried shrimp basket expecting popcorn shrimp and was pleasantly surprised by the tasty crunch, though the cocktail sauce tasted more like ketchup without any horseradish kick. My friend's fried fish basket was fantastic, and everything about this small, bustling lunch joint-from ordering at the counter to bussing your own table-felt like a fun, old-school experience with fresh, generous portions. Between the awesome swamp-themed decor, friendly service, and consistently delicious Cajun classics like po' boys and gumbo, I'll definitely be back whenever I'm in New Iberia.
