For over 50 years, I've been enjoying the basic coastal Cajun, Southern home, Creole, and New Orleans Sicilian cuisine at the Forest Restaurant, where the shrimp gumbo is a must-try, Sundays are now closed, there's ample off-street parking, clean restrooms (just grab a couple of napkins), a separate full bar, and a peaceful atmosphere with delicious offerings like praline chicken and cheesy hash browns.

Good food I know ,was a pastry maker and assistance chef for 17yrs.i know the food was good then and I am sure they have some of our recipes cause the best was the morning ., and lunch crew , breakfast ,we worked under mrs . V. J.. a fantastic boss will never forget her my 4 boys and husband worked there ,also worked under Al. Nice people

My favorite restaurant for Cajun food. Awesome catfish, and wings. Cajun food to me is all about the seasoning. We had the bread pudding for dessert.

Had a Shrimp Dinner from the Forest for Lunch today at Degussa Carbon Black Plant.

This was the best tasting shrimp dinner I have ever had
