Reflecting on my experience since 2017, the atmosphere at Common Grounds has evolved significantly, especially after the loss of Kai Yee Chin in November 2023. His family's dedication to honoring his legacy by continuing the restaurant's operations has infused a new sense of joy and purpose into the space. With updated hours and exciting specials like BBQ smoked brisket and the ever-popular Mushrooms St. Trey, the warmth of this gathering spot in old Gretna is palpable, inviting both returning patrons and newcomers alike.

If you are into frills don't go here. If what you want is New Orleans character, great food, great prices, and a few new friends give it a try! I always go here when in town visiting friends.
