My husband and I do Mexican take out frequently - it's a favorite of his. We've tried several other places recently, in downtown Portland and also Brunswick, and have been disappointed with both.

However, we were pleasantly surprised when we ordered the jalapeno nachos and beef chimichanga from Tortilla Flat. The food was fixed quickly, at a reasonable price for the portion size, and the staff was pleasant. There was tons of it - enough so that my husband saved some of his to snack on that night. My chimichanga was packed with beef, and he could barely find the chips in his nachos, unlike many other versions he'd tried, which were all chips and no toppings.

We will DEFINITELY be going back, even though it's a bit out of our way.

My husband and I have been there many times over the years. We come all the way from Woolwich just to go. We've brought friends numerous times and not once did we have a bad experience. The service was great and the food is excellent. One of the Best Mexican restaurants I've ever been too and I've been to many mexican restaurants all over the country.

I went to Tortilla Flat on dec 2 around 5:00 pm. i was charged incorrectly, over charged for an item twice. I purchased a kids meal and was not given my drink or my desert. My husbands meal was not even edible. For the $35.oo we spent, Wwe could have had as awful of a meal at Taco bell for $5.oo. I was very disappointed and will NEVER go back and would recommend anyone to go else where. This was the worst mexican food I have ever eaten.
