On a quiet Monday afternoon in Ridgewood, I led some friends through the familiar streets to an Italian bakery that has been a comforting presence for decades. The moment we stepped inside, the intoxicating scent of freshly baked breads and pastries enveloped us, with lobster tails and rich cheesecakes tempting our senses from behind a gleaming display. I had a fantastic time revisiting Catania Bakery with friends I hadn't seen in 30 years, and the aroma of fresh-baked treats instantly took me back.
