We went to the Acropolis for the first time to celebrate our daughter and her husband’s move to their new home in Frostburg. We love Greek food so we were very excited to try the restaurant. Unfortunately it was not a good experience. The waitress spilled an entire bottle of beer on my husband and his 92 year old mother. We are pretty low key people and did not make a big fuss about it but we were very disappointed in the handling of this unfortunate accident. Towels were offered and a light apology or 2. My husband’s new leather jacket was mopped up by the staff but no offer to help with the dry cleaning was forthcoming. No meals were comp’ed and there seemed to be no real concern, even for the 92 year old whose leg was soaked with beer. We were a party of seven and spent quite a bit of money on the evening but we will not be back. Even after the incident the service was terrible. There are many restaurants’ in Alleghany county (City lights, Warner’s, the Oxford House, etc) where I can guarantee better service and where if an accident happened I’m sure they would make it right.

Excellent greek entrees, salads and desserts. We eat there at least once, twice a week. SUPERB!!
