Awesome place to eat

So obvious the previous reviewers had ulterior motives. Knowing the quaint little cafe has been voted as best Italian restaurant in Baltimore. And being a regular visitor of many of the various establishments in Little Italy, CAFE GIA is BY FAR the best in both quality and bang for your buck. Give yourself the opportunity to enjoy a great meal and not taking out a second mortgage like some of its competitors would require. The eggplant parm literally melts in your mouth, and every single pasta or chicken dish I've had have been exceptional. Make sure you ask about any daily specials as they are made with the freshest and tastiest ingredients available, ranging from black Angus steaks to line caught wild King Salmon. I always finish my meals with their made from scratch Lemon Ricotta cake, it sounds like an odd combo, but is easily the best dessert I've ever eaten. Make the decision for yourself, I guarantee you'll go back again and again.

Horrible. I got food poisoning on my anniversary and spent the entire night violently ill with projectile vomit and diarrhea. When I called and spoke to the manager Gia (owner's daughter) I didn't receive an apology but rather an interrogation. I was offered a free meal, which I obviously declined and requested a refund on my credit card. Gia then said "oh, a refund for your portion?"...and I said no, I think the entire check would be more reasonable as my anniversary was spent in the ER. She said she'd have to speak with the owner and call me back. She called a little while later stating she'd need my medical records! As ridiculous as I found that request- I did get the records. I called back to request a fax # and no one would provide one for me. I've left several messages with no response. Long story short...DON'T EAT THERE!!! They have ZERO regard for their customers.

Horrible service. Terrible prices. Inhospitable. Giovanna Aquia, one of the owners, lectured the birthday girl on (a) not ordering food quick enough (where was the waitress?) and (b) that Cafe Gia was doing us a FAVOR by allowing us to eat there. They also added a 100% non-negotiable alcohol tax, a $28 cake fee, and an exorbitant gratuity. I had an $18 entree and paid $34.50 due to the fees. I would never return here, on pain of death.
