The oysters were delicious, and the server was knowledgeable and friendly. The mozzarella sticks were cooked well, with a good amount of cheese inside. I recommend trying the crab cakes and shrimp platter at Captain John's for a satisfying seafood experience.

120 dollars a dozen jumbos and went home opened bag all papershells plus charged additional 9 % with use of debit card...will never go back

Why would you eat here?
It can't be because of the service or food.

Why does this place have 4stars?
All of these REVIEWS must have been from local customers, individuals that come during off ours, those who do not mind waiting over 1.5hrs for drinks and those who don't mind waiting over 2hrs for food.

The service and management.
1. We waited over 45min to be seated, when we had a reservation that was placed more than 4days in advance.
2. After being seated, we waited over 20min for just our drinks orders to be taken. Yes, not appetizers or anything else, simply drinks.
3. After our drink order was taken we waited over 25min for our food order to be taken.
4. After food order was taken, we waited 40 min for our appetizer to show up. *management* was notified of the wait and the response was; "okay, what do you want me to do?"
5. After appetizers received we had to wait another 30min for food to start coming out at 10min intervals.

Context.
We have a birthday party of 25 people with one.. one waiter. Out of this party 11 of these individuals are children from age 15-3. Every table is not full. There is more than 10staff members on the floor.

Complaint.
Why haven't the kids food come out immediately after the appetizers? Why wouldn't some of the staff back up the single waiter? Why wasn't this parties reservation respected both seating and service? Why was the bartender turning paying/waiting customers away(telling them order through their server, but wait times at table was more than 20min between drinks)? Even after people who was seated after us have come and gone, we are still waiting.

End statement.
If you are from the city.. or anywhere that has real seafood restaurant service, this is not your place.
