The Philly steak and cheese with mushrooms are delicious, the pizza and mozzarella sticks are great, and the customer service is superb.

Got a italian sub. Soaked with vinegar and oil. 3 pieces of lettuce. No onions. Rotten. Took back was not given $$$ refund. Sucks. Manager told me "I DONT CARE " i have great pics but it will not. Let me add photos

Sad but true, the owner has since passed on but the staff and I believe some family are still there putting out delicious food. The pizza is so good. I watch them put the cheese on the pie. Its almost too much, i cant believe it. The steak and cheese sub is out of this world. I compare it to J Mart's sub. So great. I go there twice a week and will continue to do so.

This is the only place i know where you can tell who the owner is because he will shake your hand, pull up a seat, and ask how you are doing. Service is quick and the pizzas are made with fresh dough, Unlike the the frozen and over seasoned doughs found at chains. Also they come with dipping sauce. The cheese steaks are great,the gyros are delicious and heavy, and they have the best chicken caesar salad in town. Best of all, its affordable, especially with store pickup. South river pizza is a well rounded main street restaurant with strong community values that i will visit regularly.

Moved down from CT and had low expectations for a decent gyro. South Rivet was a pleasant surprise and treat. The owner & his staff are hospitality oriented. The gyro made me homesick. I haven't gotten to the pizzas i am still working the sub list! Thanks, For saving my taste buds.

As the others have mentioned, Sam, the owner is one of the most polite, warm, and professional person I've met in a restaurant in some time. Their menu includes a nice variety of Mediterranean entrees, subs and wraps, and their South River Pizza (less the ground beef) is my favorite pizza in town!
I have placed large orders for parties and business luncheons and everything has always been cooked to perfection and very tasty! I've had most of the things on their menu and everything has been great - wings could be hotter, but we keep hot sauces at home for that. :)
This place shouldn't be kept a secret!
Call them tonight and place an order and try it for yourself!

Honestly, the food is really good, not 5 star worthy. The reason I give it a 5 star is because it is run by, I believe, a Greek man who is just the most kind and welcoming restaurant owner I've ever encountered. As the other reviewer "Joe" said, the owner takes calls, runs the register, and DELIVERS HIMSELF on occasion, very talkative, very polite. He REALLY takes the time to appreciate your business with a hand shake and a thanks...that's what I like as far as service goes. The pizza and Gyro's is good, the subs are better, they've got plenty of appetizers, specials, and just added some seafood. Try it.

Their name may have PIZZA in it but I don't even know how good it is because I really like their Subs and have never tried their Pizza.

They have a really good 'Philly Cheese Steak' sub that is almost as good as Jakes Steaks. I consider Jakes to have the best in the Annapolis/Edgewater/Mayo/Riva areas and that is basically all they make.

Their 'South River Club' sub has a very unique taste and it is one of my Favorites.

You HAVE to try their Fries. I am very picky about French Fries and I think these are the best in Maryland.

The 'Buffalo Wings' are really good but like every Restaurant East of Texas, they are never hot enough

Getting ready to call them in a few minutes to place an order to be DELIVERED. I have not yet decided which sub to order but it is a given that I will be adding Fries and hot Wings.

The owner runs the operation(takes the calls,runs the cash register,etc.) and is VERY friendly and courteous.
