I want the old Nichols menu back please. I went in with my boyfriend when they 'Reopened' . . not the same food anymore. Everything is way overpriced now. Sad. Bet the old crowd can't even afford to go anymore. I used to go at least 2 times a week. Walked in sat down, looked at the menu, and left . . . .sorry. I wouldn't recommend it anymore.

The old and supposedly new 'old' Nichol's is now open. We've been waiting for that delicious New England Clam Chowder. When I called this afternoon, they no longer make it! While speaking to the nice young woman on the phone, there was a lot of noise in the back ground. No one wants to eat where the acoustics are so bad that you have to scream at the person across from you and you can't have a meal in peace.

I'm very sad as I'm sure their menu will not be in comparison to the old one. What a shame.
We may try it this evening, if we do, I'll report back.

Can nothing remain as good as it was before???

Maybe, maybe not.

Been dining there for 20years. Food is always fresh, great quality, and superbly served by attentive waiters/waitresses. My only complaint is that LIVER and ONIONS was removed from the menu. That was an item I went for on a weekly basis.

I've been going to this place for years. It's great. They've always been a bit pricey but I think overall it's well worth it. Depending on the hour you go there can be a wait but there's room to wait on the inside and outside. They have amazing chicken noodle soup and sometimes they have other ones that might sound a little odd but they're great too (there's a curry one and also a eggplant one). Nichol's has food for everyone. Highly reccommended.

On my first visit, I overheard a server tell someone that there are customers who eat breakfast, lunch and dinner there every day. I don't know if that's why I want to eat there so much, but I do like the food. There are large portions, usually served with soup (my favorite, clam chowder), home-made bread and decent-sized entree portions. You pay for quality, however. It's not as cheap as other diners/family restaurants though. And, my number one complaint - no beer or wine. If you can overcome those obstacles though, it's a nice meal.
