Good stuff

01/24/2011 - Bitter Taste
While driving down Fairfax Blvd. this afternoon, we decided to drop into Canter's Deli (a Landmark in Los Angeles since 1931) for some cheesecake. Instead of a mouth-watering, creamy, flavorful treat, we wound up with a chalky, bland, powdered brick. Unfortunately, the disgusting aftertaste lingered.
We went back to Canter's to return the "cheesecake" and were given a hassle because the cashier failed to give us a receipt earlier. After some hemming and hawing by the deli clerk, we were told that they would need to weigh the remains (a small bite was all that was missing) and we would receive a partial refund based on what was not consumed. We finally wound up receiving $16.00 of the $17.00 spent after several minutes.
Warning to future patrons--MAKE SURE YOU RECEIVE A RECEIPT AND STAY AWAY FROM THE "CHEESECAKE" unless you want to visit the emergency room for cement blockage!!!
