Low lite, great for a date. The salsa has kick which is rare as most mexican places water their salsa down but definitely not @ Ernie's. Authentic food and friendly service round out what is a great place to eat.

This is a great alternative to places like Casa Vega or El Torito. The ambiance is wonderful. Don't have to wait hours on Sat nights to be seated. The service is great too. The only thing I don't really like are their chips, they're kinda thick and chewy. But I would come here over any of the mexican restaurants on ventura any day!
