I have such fond memories of frequenting RJs and other related restaurants in the 80s, where we would often spot celebrities enjoying a meal. The standout feature was the expansive salad bar, offering a wide array of fresh ingredients and toppings that I still vividly recall to this day. It's a shame that the original owner has since opened another establishment, as the experience just isn't quite the same anymore.

I was living in LA during the late 80s and my favorite place was RJ's the rib joint. Between 5 and 5:15 pm, you could get half off your entire bill. My favorite ribs was the molasses boar ribs and the short time offered apple candy apple ribs. My favorite desert was the mile high chocolate cake which I could eat for three days. The salad bar was amazing, about a wall of offerings with a huge wheel of cheddar in the center. I was depressed when I moved out of state and found out it was closed. If you were lucky, you got the chance of a lifetime to have experienced this place in Beverlyt Hills. It was so worth finding the parking and walking any distance for. I still can't figure out how they did the candy apple rib sauce, not as sweet as I thought it might be. The place is amazing and one of the best memories I have in my entire life.
