So quick.👍🏻BUT they did not ask if we wanted delivery or pickup. That was very disappointing.😩 Still love it though but they could do better.😔They we’re also in a rush.

Absolutely the best marinara sauce in Gloucester.
All food at Captain Hooks is the BEST compared to all the other restaurants.

I have been going here since I was a kid and I always know I can always get a great sub or a nice slice of pizza. The pastas are exceptional and are one of my favorites on the menu. The pats can be stale but the soles are better anyways.

Not happy at all w/ the 1/2 sub that I got on Monday the 24th of October. I got a 1/2 size steak and onion and said LIGHT MEAT, when I got to work and opened my sandwich and it was very soggy and too much meat.. I threw it away. So I had a can of orange soda and chips. Not enough for lunch.

I wish they could be more consistent with their pizza. One day it is good but the then the next t time the pizza crust is soggy even though I ask for well done!!
Also I got a clam plate one evening and the clams were over cooked!!! Crispy!! Awful!!! The clams were dark brown, hard and too crispy!!!

The pizza is fantastic, my favorite of anywhere! If you like a lot of sauce, order extra sauce as a topping, and it will be perfect. Ask about specials, as right now you can get a special price if you order two large pizzas. I'm a vegetarian and a pizza lover, so I only get the pizza, but they have many other excellent items on the menu that people love. The owners, who are carrying on a family tradition, and the people who work there, are really friendly and helpful, sensitive to food allergies and willing to do whatever is necessary to make customers happy. Definitely a must stop every time I go home to Gloucester. I even get extra pizzas to take home!

For YEARS we loved Captain Hooks -- especially their Pizza ! It was a favorite, but has changed and not in a good way. We've tried a few times, hoping that maybe once/twice, was just a fluke? Sadly, it wasn't and now, we stopped going there. I assume maybe the recipe has been changed,which is a bummer --t was SO good before. I've heard they have new owners and maybe this is why?

I sure HOPE they go back to the way it was, their Pizza was always our favorite and we also ordered subs and plates, there often, but after being so disappointed in the Pizza we stopped going.

Please bring back the original pizza (sauce, dough and spices). The last two we ordered had way too much oregano...


Havent' been there in ages, but may give it one ore try, hoping for the best.

My husband and I got chicken and cheese stake boom it was dry as hell and a small fry from the bottom of the bag no more subs there. Pizza only

We regularly order the arancini and the pizza. Both are very good, with plenty of delicious sauce and cheese. We are very particular about our pizza, often times opting to make our own. But when ordering out, can't beat Captain Hook's for freshness and good ingredients.

The eggplant parmesan sandwich was unappetizing. The eggplant was burnt and the sauce tasted like it just came out of the can. The bread was not toasted and only a small amount of cheese on the eggplant. I would never go to this restaurant again.

We used to always eat here. Their food taste good BUT their service is horrible. *WARNING PEOPLE WITH FOOD ALLERGY BEWARE* Several times I have ordered and warned everytime about food allergies. They say they can serve me. I say dairy and egg allergy please dont put cheese on stuff, yet it comes with cheese all over it. I have to send it back. The last time they put mayo all over the sub roll and put lettuce over it. No one even asked for mayo as it contains eggs and we also gave an egg allergy warning. Thankfully i double checked before it was eatten as this could have cause anaphylactic shock and could have been deadly. You call in an order and they are unbelievable rude on the phone. I've even had them ask me if i wanted to wait over an hour for my food to be delivered. When I said that was fine their reply was fine but like we said well over an hour with an attitude. It was as if they didn't want me to order. I have had on several occasions food missing from my order. Once my whole pizza was left at the restaurant while two subs and fries were delivered. Everyone small children included had to wait to eat dinner and peoples subs were cold by the time the pizza came. One time everyones food came but a childs sub and they had to wait 20min for dinner while everyone elses dinner got delivered. I WILL NOT BE GOING BACK THERE. THEIR LACK OF EDUCATION IN FOOD ALLERGIES IS DOWN RIGHT SCARY. If they are not comfortable dealing with food allergies then they should just say so. I honestly have no problem with them saying we are not comfortable serving you for your safty; but to say you can and put the person allergens on their food is very dangerous. I hope no one ever gets really sick because of them.
