Mac's Shack is a fantastic destination with consistently excellent food and service, all at fair prices. The diverse menu offers everything from delicious pork Bao Buns to a standout hot lobster roll, and the raw bar is exceptional. I've always enjoyed my visits, especially the friendly atmosphere and the attentive service at the bar; it's a must-visit when in Wellfleet.

September 14, 2023. Just stopped in for an appetizer and quick drink on a recommendation from a local friend (we're visiting from out of state). Aside from the food (which was meh at best, but the fries were good) our experience was soured by the service. Our waitress was less than enthused about being there. We waited for two orders: lobster roll (cold) and the Wild Mexican Shrimp Cocktail (which turned out to be nothing more than shrimp on a small baking sheet and a little cocktail sauce. Nothing special). The roll came out in reasonable time, but the shrimp cocktail was nowhere to be seen. After another while, we had to find our waitress (having coffee with a colleague) to get our shrimp cocktail. As I walked past the raw bar (expecting her to bring the tray to the table), she gave me the tray with the shrimp to take to the table myself. No water refills. We had to grab the pitcher and fill our glasses. While we expect higher prices on the Cape, we don't expect surly attitudes and poor service that go with these prices. As we left, our waitress tells us "I hope you have a better day". Our response was, "we hope the same for you". Her retort was, "it'll be better now". Wow.
