Mel from Kent,Ct.Sunday March 2nd, 2014.@3:30 p.m.(History/About us :-we FREQUENT restaurants in the city (nyc) 2X to 1X a day+ I do NOT cook. we eat out ALWAYS***or order in/or have restaurant food delivered). We entered the restaurant it was VERY VERY VERY CLEAN ( NO SMELL, OF ANY FOOD WHATSOEVER!) You can literally eat off the FLOOR!).I order cheeseburger with mushrooms, grilled onions BROWNED , I said, meat well done & NO PINK, I said, cut it open & check it out if you must , I said, fries, not greasy, I said, etc.I said.... Giovanna the "patient" & VERY prompt & VERY professional, well versed NO ATTITUDE ( NOT EVEN A HINT OF AN ATTITUDE!& gave appropriate smiles to boot!to this " NEW YORKER" who wanted her food like I WAS THE QUEEN BEE...) young waitress asked me if I wanted this & that with it etc. great recommendations& great knowledge of the menu & availability!...IT CAME OUT PERFECT! JUST LIKE I ORDERED ...& then some....wow... was that plate & servings BIG...like Mafioso B-I-G !That is the biggest Freshest Kaiser roll & 1 inch thick ... fresh ground beef ( MOST probably NOT frozen) that I had EVER seen for $8+ !!! That hamburger is a $16 hamburger ALONE! Plus the trimmings! The coleslaw in the small container ...was....THE BEST TASTING coleslaw I have ever tasted! As good as you can make the most basic coleslaw! Not heavy on the pepper either! (total about 5 small black dots). a slither of a pickle. I also ordered 1/2 garlic bread (NOT yellow, make it browned, well done (I, the Queen bee, said). It came out perfect ! Even some of the small garlic pieces were browned...it did NOT come out as BIG CHUNKS OF GARLIC, no... the garlic was cut VERY fine! Like how they would make it for their own family! The other order was steak sandwich on a round kaiser it was good. No complaints. The fries for both plates were NOT greasy, they were probably with flour before frying or oven fried..or coated...excellent!...(just like Miami subs bar & grill fries)...However....the servings for the fries were HUGE!!! Just like the sandwiches!!! I had to ask for a container to take the leftovers back home.. what a WONDERFUL find! A new makeover for this joint that looks like a Greek mom & pop restaurant but with a full Italian menu + Greek diner menu to boot! The servings are Athens Greece cafe size....HUGE!!!!Mountainous!!!lastly but not least...the waitress Giovanna was "SELF-motivated" & self-inclined to work I was taking note that she was a neat freak & she cleaned & wiped down (ON HER HANDS & KNEES!!!) all the booth tables & chairs & EVEN THE SIDE WALLS!!! & anywhere where the patrons would be sitting touch their backs or ...whatever they would touch ANY PART OF THEIR body! She is self inclined & she did this when all the food/phone orders, menus, etc. were done & when we were done eating...wow!!!...If I were her...I would drop dead by then!!! In between the lunch patrons & before the dinner patrons would come in..I would HIGHLY recommend this"hardworker" ...what a "goldmine" this restaurant has...by having Giovanna work there...she has ALL the ENERGY of 3 men!IT is VERY VERY VERY VERY hard to find good workers ANYWHERE nowadays!
P.S. I normally NEVER review ANY restaurant EVER! But this worker & this place...was the " ULTIMATE " EXCEPTION... I am also a world traveler..I note exceptional workers such as Ms. Giovanna.
