this evening we chanced upon a little jewel tucked away in canton ga. we were tired, hungry and a bit cranky, but from the time we hit the door to the time we left this was a wonderful experience! the management and staff greeted us like returning friends - seated us promptly in at the table of our choice, and our cute as a button waitress was as friendly and eager to please as a puppy! she made appropriate recommendations which we tried, with great success!
calimari was quickly and perfectly prepared and nicely presented, with just enough seasoning to elevate it well above the usual offering.
our caesar salads arrived in good time, and were crisp, fresh, torn, not chopped, and well dressed ( perhaps a bit generous with the dressing, but i was quite pleased!)
our main courses arrived in an equally timely fashion, the scallop special was outstanding, perfectly grilled and plated with a generous accompanyment of properly finished asparagus. my lady enjoyed the grilled tilapia tacos, and our only regret was that we did not have room for dessert!
our server was polite, well informed, and very attentive, making sure we were happy with all aspects of our dinner, and never letting a water or drink glass get below half full!
all in all, a wonderful evening, in a pleasant atmosphere, with great staff and tasty dinner - we will not only be back as regulars, but will recommend this little jewel to our friends.
do yourself a falvor favor - - give them a try!

We were really excited when the tavern opened--finally a nearby eatery with good food! Then, it seems, the chef got lazy. We went there a few times and the waiter told us a with a bit of an attitude what was NOT available that night. Then the consistency of the food quality started to slip. We and several other friends and family members didn't go back for a few months, but my husband and I tried it again this weekend. A disappointment. New chefs; a fairly expensive crab cake tasted somewhat fishy; the once superb garlic-laced spinach side was so salty it was inedible (no offer to replace, just to take it off the check); once delicious ribs were dry. And for a BYOB, the bill was still pretty pricey.
Goodbye Ironhorse!

Live in Harmony, been to the Iron Horse since it opened. Have been an enthusiastic supporter. Tonight (3/22/11), I had a real surprise. The worst service ever! Our server never asked if we needed more tea or water. My wife's dinner came AFTER I had finished mine. Next time, I'll vote for Crab's.

One of the best, friendly and amazing places for a great meal. My favorite is the pancakes. So much food you can split 2 or 3 ways. The owner does all the cooking and it is to perfection!!!!! Waitresses are very friendly, you feel as if you're at home with your own chief! We need one of your quaint places in Woodstock :-> PLEASE!!!!!!!
