I have always enjoyed the Dillard house. When reading Disgruntled's review, I can only figure that the Dillard staff must have identified him as someone that they wanted to leave immediately or that they did not want to return. Dillard's likes me and they always give me discounts below their advertised prices. I have a strong Southern accent and I am courteous to their staff. Usually, the other folks I meet up there are also very courteous folks with rural southern manners.

Went for a one night stay and was shocked at what we found. Small room and charged almost $200.00 per night for a standard room w/ 2 people, It was advertised for much less) 2 exterior doors would not lock, sliding glass door was almost impossible to open/close, no screen door, old unattractive buildings, advertised activities are NOT on their property, but in the area so you have to drive to everything, we had to leave to get a simple sandwich for lunch, no food other than what they serve family style, $60.00 + dinner check for 2 people and didn't get all the food we were supposed to due to "shortages." Tea and soft drinks were not included. And how can anyone screw up cooking black eyed peas!? (Horrible) The toilet was broken and we were up in the middle of the night mopping the floor and changing into dry clothes from being sprayed and having to hold the small hose into the overflow tube when we flushed, after it was supposedly fixed earlier. Our entertainment was counting the flies on the ceiling. Last count was 21. But we did enjoy being able to get away for a week-end, the fresh mountain air, and beautiful scenery. If that's what you want North Georgia is the place - just be sure to stay SOMEPLACE ELSE!

Went to Dillard for what should have been an enjoyable Thanksgiving. Had to wait 3 and a half hours to been seated. Did not get seated till almost 7:00 and then were not able to eat in the warm main area but were put in a smaller room on the back side of the restaurant, it was cold and so was the food and what they brought was not good looked like leftover pieces of turkey and not much of anything. Paid $29.95
