We went to IHop this morning for breakfast. Most things were good until it was time to go. The server brought us our check and said you can go ahead and pay now so that way you don't have to wait too long. She was trying to rush us. Something seemed off. The check was not itemized, it just had the amount on it. It was way more than what we expected.
After she scanned our card, I had a bad feeling about it and my husband and I decided to ask for an itemized ticket because something seemed off. Well it was.
Come to find out she decided she was going to add her own gratuity in our amount without letting us know.
When my husband confronted the manager about it he said the she had told him that she told us what she did, which she did not, and then the manager accused us of not intending on tipping her anyways. Which is not true!!
As a former server I always go above and beyond when tipping because I know servers live off those tips.
I will never go back to IHop after this!
The IHop we went to was in Warner Robins, GA on Watson Blvd. Server name is Kaeleigh. If you go there, make sure you don't get her and always ask for an itemized ticket before you pay!! Lesson learned!
