We had a reservation didn't see it on the list...We had 2 filets 2 sweet teas.. no flavor at all. Way over priced for the area and the restaurant, $97.00 serving on paper plates I just couldn't believe it... If your going to service on picnic wear charge as such!

We went to the Fern Bank. There were 4 of us.
The food was ok and the waitress was ok. We did
not like eating in the dark.. Menu was a bit overpriced. May visited again.

I live in Charlotte and my husband is from Douglas where his family still lives. We recently were vacationing there and he took me to The Fern Bank for my birthday dinner. The food was on disposable plates, but my husband believes this is due to them not having a commercial grade dish washer or something to the affect. The food was fantastic, the server was great. We didn't have to wait to be seated, but we got there around 5:30 and they don't start serving food until 6. Regardless of the plates, the food was well worth the money. We spent less than $100 on 1 steak dinner, a steak and shrimp dinner, 2 mixed drinks, 2 shots, and 3-4 beers. All in all, it was well worth it. I ate every bite!

Well unlike Scott I had a pleasant experience! I've eaten there many times & never had a bad meal! The fish is fabulous & the fillet is always awesome. The staff & atmosphere are great! I think Scott may have had a bad time because he chose one of their busiest times of the year, Valentine's Day!!

Having heard good things about the Fern Bank, my wife and I went there for a meal. Even with a reservation, we waited 15 minutes. The meal took an hour and a half to get to our table! The steak was ok, the lobster was over done and the meal was served on plastic plates! $122.00!! Way over priced for the quality. We will not be going back to The Fern Bank. We give it one star.....and that's because the waitress was good.
