We stopped by Northwind Café on Thursday, August 6, 2015 for a quick lunch (we figured a quick hamburger & fries would not be too difficult). It was about 1:00 P.M. and figured the "lunch crowd" would be gone by then. There was one table of approximately 8-10 people and the rest of the restaurant was empty. We sat down in a booth. We ordered two cups of coffee and we each ordered the "special" figuring it would not be too difficult to put together the "special." I believe it was a hot beef sandwich dinner. There were two waitresses on duty but one of them left. I believe I noticed two kitchen workers, but then I noticed only one remained. We did get our coffees pretty quickly. However, after waiting for approximately 30 minutes for our "specials" we paid for our coffees and cancelled the meals and left the building. Poor service to say the least. We drove to Walker, ordered a similar meal at the Outdoorsman Café, and had our meals within 5-7 minutes of entering the restaurant. Sorry, we won't be supporting your restaurant again. When we vacation we try to support the local Mom & Pop businesses, but we would have to go to a McDonald's before we would stop by yours ever again.
