The lighting in the restaurant was harsh, casting a bright glare that eliminated any sense of intimacy. The absence of music left the atmosphere uncomfortably quiet, making private conversations difficult. Despite the stark ambiance, the hushpuppies were cooked to perfection and the catfish on the bone was delicious, though challenging to eat.
