I was seriously disappointed in our meal and experience: we arrived around 3.45pm and were not allowed to eat on covered porch overlooking the lake. It was empty but they said it was set for dinner which didn't start until 5pm. We were told we could sit in the bar area which was dark and gloomy and i had to use my phone's flashlight to be able to even read the menu. Not an exciting choice at all but we ordered because my partner was hungry, I would have left right then and not bothered. after we ordered they came and said we were given the wrong menu and this time the choices were even worse. Really, an expensive restaurant only had boring chicken noodle for a soup choice?? Only one choice of burger which we ordered but asked for a different cheese and mine came with cheese I didn't want and it looked like a plastic blob (wish I had taken a picture). The fries were plentiful but so incredibly salty I couldn't eat them and I normally LOVE french fries; in fact I only ate the meat part of the burger and it was just so so. THE WORST MEAL I HAVE HAD THERE EVER and we visit every year, never had we been refused access to the covered porch for eating. REALLY, you can't sit their for our late lunch, clean up of the table is the same no matter what. For what we got and the low quality the price was way too expensive. Our waitress was nice at least and said she understood our disappointment and discounted my meal 20% she said but couldn't check is it went to my partner. My partner didn't complain about his meal until after we left. There is no mention on the website that you can't eat in the covered porch dining area at certain times. The best part about the place is sitting there to enjoy the view. The dingy dark bar area was a really downer. Will we try it again next year, I am not sure after this sorry experience.

The meal should have been one of the highlights of our 5 day “Hallmark movie” vacation. We met our daughter and boyfriend who flew in from Hawaii, we all had a different meal: salmon for me, pork chop for my husband, elk for boyfriend of daughter and filet for our daughter. All meals except the salmon were served with mashed potatoes and green beans. I wish the corn would have been left out of the rice pilaf served with the salmon as I have diverticulitis and can’t have that. I would not have thought to ask the waitress because I’ve never had corn in that dish, and it was also somewhat flavorless. The mashed potatoes were not hot enough and also didn’t have enough seasoning. The green beans were good. For the price of the meal and drinks ($300 plus $60 tip) the food should have been presented perfectly, especially since we were the only ones there for quite a while. The waitress and staff were pleasant and the ambience very nice as we had a seat by the window with a beautiful view.
