The Melt Down grilled cheese exceeded expectations with its amazing bread and fresh, locally sourced ingredients, complemented by a cozy interior and friendly, knowledgeable staff who eagerly share details about the menu. Hosting a dinner for 30 was effortless thanks to attentive service and generous portions, leaving everyone satisfied and eager to return for more, including the delicious baked goods and creative drink options. Despite a small space and occasional wait times, the efficient system and warm atmosphere make every visit enjoyable, with flavorful, house-made meals that truly showcase the love and care behind each dish.

great food and service

I have only eaten here once even though my husband took on some client accounts in McMinnville and since we have a baby- I join him when he has long days so that he can see the baby when he's done and swim in a local hotel.
Sadly- we're in McMinnville at least one night a week and no matter how hard I try to eat at The Diner (since it's literally next to the hotel we stay in) I can't seem to be served.
Today- I tried to get a table at 1:18 (they close at 2:00) and the same waitress that's ushered us away every time previously (4 counting today) told us it would just be "much easier if we ate somewhere else since they close at 2:00." I said that it was only 1:20 and she said, "It's been a busy day."
If they maybe ran out of something or no tables were open- I maybe would understand but it literally looked like she was so preoccupied with closing the restaurant that she forgot the point of it even being open.
I don't know if it's just this one particular waitress and maybe my bad luck- but she's a serious gatekeeper and maybe plan to have lunch at 9:00am? It's too bad because the one time I did get through her block and actually convinced her to let us eat outside if we bussed our own table - the food was delicious.
At this point, my daughters are scared of her and I'm not up to proposing all the reasons I deserve to eat there.
