Great stop for those heading south and seeking authentic regional seafood. The decor is charmingly shabby, adorned with an array of pictures and products available for purchase. The friendly staff are knowledgeable and eager to assist in navigating the menu's highlights. The fresh and delicious seafood offerings, such as the Crab Cake Sandwich and Hush Puppies, are sure to satisfy any seafood lover's cravings.

Always busy, always great food and service too. You have to get it "to go", but they have picnic tables outside to enjoy your hot seafood while it's still very hot.

The food is so good with reasonable prices that I travel 20 miles. I try to go once a month. Money well spent. Worth the time, everytime.

My mom and I used to visit a dear family friend in Norfolk, virginia and then visit a cousin in Wilmington, Delaware. On the road between the two places we happened upon Metompkin Seafood one year. We were hungry, and thought it would be perfect as we could eat outside and have the dogs with us. The food was superb. I loved what they call "soft crab" (we call it soft shell crab) and the oysters, etc. The owners would remember us and greet us each year. Sadly our cousin in Delaware died at age 89 so we stopped going through the Eastern Shore, and since then our friend in Norfolk has passed away also. But we'll never forget the special times with them and great food at Metompkin Seafood. On the way home from our trip we'd often try to travel on a day when Metompkin was open. We weren't always able to do that, because we traveled much further than just Delaware. I wish I could post some of our photos. I'm so glad they're still in business.
