Never disappointed!

My husband and I visited Kathy's while vacationing in Va. I read some fantastic reviews of this place and it sounded exactly what my husband was looking for. We were so disappointed....we didn't get the friendly atmosphere that everyone else was talking about (everyone just stared at us when we walked in), my husband ordered the special (country ham, baked potato and northern beans) while others got bread we did not (it was not listed on the special but who serves beans without bread?) We are southern so we know a little about southern cooking. It appears that they take care of their regular patrons but we felt over looked. We ordered unsweet tea because we are diabetic but got sweet tea instead so we asked for a glass of unsweet which we then mixed with the sweet to make it less sweet for us. That was the last tea we got and they were small glasses. Half of the meal my husband had no tea. The cost....while most people say the price was good, we were not impressed with the price, the food, nor the service we received. Maybe we just caught them on a bad day so I hope anyone else that goes there gets better than we did. I read reviews about restaurants before I go when I've never eaten there before, so I felt compelled to write this review so people can make up their own minds as to whether to eat here. As for us, we will not eat here again.
