I am on a quest to discover and rate hidden countryside taverns, and this one is by far the most remote I have encountered. As soon as you walk in, you are greeted by the iconic Pabst Blue Ribbon sign hanging above the entrance in the quaint town of Avalon. Nestled in a sleepy, unincorporated community surrounded by fields and grain silos, the Hat Rack offers a unique and authentic rural drinking experience that is worth a visit if you find yourself in the area.
