If you crave authentic Mexican cuisine with great flavors and affordable prices, this restaurant delivers consistently delicious meals that keep me coming back. The interior may surprise you, but the fresh salsa, hearty portions, and friendly atmosphere make every visit enjoyable. Watching the diverse clientele, especially local Mexican workers, enjoying their meals speaks volumes about the quality and authenticity here.

For authentic Mexican food at a reasonable price, this restaurant is worth a visit. The atmosphere is unique (it's housed in an old gas station) and the service can be hit or miss depending on the staff.

I've been going to this restaurant since they opened. Tonight there were five of us (2 adults 3 children) and they got four of our orders wrong. We asked for pineapple chicken (that was correct and amazing) a chicken quesadilla, two orders that had ground beef tacos with fries and an order of cilantro chicken wings (literally watched the waitress write it down) . We got a cheese quesadilla with no chicken, Crock-Pot Style pulled beef tacos and some spicy thai pepper sauce chicken wings. I told them I had no issue paying for it, but did let them know my concern as far as not getting orders correct. Then they went straight Soup Nazi Style. The so-called assistant manager stated she was just going to not charge us and said we are no longer welcomed back at the restaurant. Lol. When I asked why in the world they would jump to banning us from coming back after pointing out deficiencies in the restaurant, I was literally told I was no longer allowed to be back because we were "gross". Maybe there was a language barrier but for the first time in 42 years I've officially been banned from a restaurant. I literally had half a chicken wing. The kids ate about two bites of their tacos. And another one had a couple bites of their cheese quesadilla. I was good to go and was willing to pay. But, I was kicked out because we were considered gross. I literally looked in dismay trying to figure out what was going on. This assistant manager was a joke and I will not be back to that restaurant ever. The only positive thing I can say is thanks for the free crappy food and you can go f yourself San Diego. I have Rich mahogany I need to go smell while I read many leather-bound books. In all seriousness, 90% of time this place has been awesome, tonight ended my relationship with them.

Beans and rice was tasty. Tamale was just ok. The margarita was weak. And tortilla soup was awful, saltier than ocean water.

Not your typical "sour cream and iceberg lettuce" so-called Mexican fare -- try the fish tacos, and the beef tacos, and the menudo, and the carnitas, and the . . . oh heck, it's all good.
