I'm so sorry to hear that Bonert's closed. They were the best and I was always so very thankful for their store in Santa Ana. They were one of the best shared secrets. As a sole support Mother of 3 small children having to work 60 hrs/wk, it was like a luxury to be able to sometimes have a delicious Bonert's pie & even get a few xtra to share with neighbors and co-workers. (And for only a few dollars!) I also remember that Bonert's donated a great many pies to the police dept who distributed them thru the city. (And that was back in the days of really, really continued tough times when there were no food pantries, etc.) My son's fav was pumpkin and he looked forward to making the trip to Bonert's on special occasions. He enlisted at age 18 when 9-11 occurred & as a result of serving his country is now buried in the Riverside Natl Cemetery. Thank you Bonert's for years of delicious pies & with your generosity helping make some good memories, esp at holidays & special occasions.
