I randomly found Funkstown Tavern with my daughter and had an awesome time eating, drinking (she went for ice tea), and chatting with the locals. The food was classic tavern fare, but we both loved our meals, and my beer was nice and cold. Despite living 45 minutes away, we're already planning on making frequent visits - the town is charming and the people are fantastic!

Stopped in today, had hot beef and fries! Home cut fries, very good! Also a chopped lettuce & egg salad. Excellent. It is an old Tavern so don't expect much atmosphere, but friendly. Could be a little lighter for old folks!.🙂Will go back, nice lunch place if you are in the area.
