Mama Jean's serves up some of the best catfish and classic Southern home cooking around, with generous portions and a variety of sides that remind me of my grandmother's kitchen. The staff are friendly and efficient, making the experience welcoming even when they're short-handed, and the prices can't be beat-especially for a hearty meat-and-three meal washed down with a big glass of sweet tea. It may not have fancy decor, but the food and hospitality keep me coming back, whether it's for breakfast or a Sunday after-church meal.
