My mom made reservations for 10 the day prior, at which time she was told this would be an issue as they can only seat up to 8 people together at a table. We were reassured that our tables would be adjacent to one another. Our group consisted of my mother, my sister and my self, our husbands and our children (the youngest being 9). When seated, we were placed in a room in opposite corners from the rest of our party and told by the older hostess we were not to talk to each other from across the room. This really upset my mom as this was to be her Mother's Day dinner. We each traveled to be here as we don't live in the same areas. We explained to the hostess this was not acceptable, and were told they would put us in another room if we were willing to wait. Not a problem. We were seated in a room that was empty except for 2 other people. We were still seated across the room from each other, although a smaller room. The manager Tom came to speak to us and was very rude. He insisted that it was Katherine's policy that they do not seat parties of more than 8 together, in fact they usually put split parties in separate rooms. Bemused, by this policy we were then told they were doing us a favor. $500 later, the food was very good but we have been truly amazed at their poor customer service and insane policies. My parents have frequently come to Katherine's in the past. However, this was the last time any of us will again.
