Great service! Great food! Great 50’s atmosphere! Can’t say enough good things about this restaurant in Monterey!! Hoping to love to the area at retirement and be a regular!

What a great place to eat & socialize with my fellow rocketeers! Our club, Valley Aerospace Team #687, meet & eat here after launches at Jack Mountain Village every month when scheduled. ( Check our website to see this!) The food is great, the service is great, and the prices are reasonable. Environment is extremely clean and very family oriented. I highly recommend giving this place your business and your dollars! Bon Appetit!

I eat out every day. You would be hard pressed to find better food anywhere including Staunton & Harrisonburg.
Half pound burgers on Brioche buns with Cobra Fries are to die for.
Surprisingly, the chicken tenders are far better than Chic-Fil-A’s and the hand breaded shrimp could run Red Lobster out of business.
Leave space for dessert!
Oh crap, I am getting hungry again just thinking about High’s!’

High's Restaurant has been an 84 year institution in small town America. You would not expect the exceptional quality of food being served coming from a small town restaurant. That is why I eat there almost every day. There is a lot of jealousy about High's success from owners and their relatives of other restaurants trying to gain High's market share. Here is the bottom line:
The menu offers unique burgers, seafood, steaks and sandwiches. Try the Cobra Fries!
As good as the entrees are, don't fill up on them. Desserts are to die for.
High's does offer Lattes, Cappucinnos, etc. Don't expect Starbucks quality. High's coffees are U.S.D.A. Certified organic and has NO chemicals like other brands.
You will be glad you tried High's!

Downhill from here...
The food use to be memorable.
Food quality drastically changed. Unorganized, overpriced, and lengthy ticket times has become the staple Highs has inherited after COVID. Cleanliness and expired products sold to customers shouldn’t be an issue after (or even before) a pandemic...now it’s more noticeable than ever.

To make this review simple, NOT RECOMMENDED.

Poor ownership reflects the majority of this restaurants issues. It’s unfortunate because this place use to be so great. As optimistic as I am, this business has an unhappy fate.

Can not order off menu must eat what is on special. Chinese food is not my choice. No burgers or appitizers. This just happened 8/13/2020 at 4:30pm. Waitress was very rude. Will not waste my time or money going back to this restaurant. Have been eating there since I was a kid.

My family and I used to eat at High’s regularly—however, since the new chef came in, he has done nothing but belittle and attack other local restaurants, businesses, and residents. As much as I used to love this restaurant, I could never support such unprofessional, disrespectful, and foul-mouthed behavior. He has gone so far as to curse other businesses on public social media platforms. I certainly wouldn’t expose your children to such behavior, and would never open my wallet for the embarrassment that this once incredible restaurant has become.
