My fiancee and I having tired of the "same ol,same ol" dining out.Decided to stop at The Big Island Grill last night, for something different.Myself having lived in Hawaii, many years ago, walking through the door was a flash back down memory lane. After being greeted with an "aloha" and a lei,the decor was spot on to the beach side bars as I remember them, short of the ocean air and the sound of waves hitting the beach.Having been to numerous "luau's" on the beach and at the Polynesian Village, while living there. The food was as authentic,as my memory recalls, none the less, everything was a very good welcome change. The service was great,in an accommodating atmosphere.Having ordered a very large sampler meal for two, everything was great, the only thing I could find missing, for a true taste of Hawaii, was the "poi".Which was fine by me,this "haole" never acquired a taste for it while in the islands.Add the fact that they have Kona Brewing products available,is another major plus in favor of a guaranteed return. All in all,the service, the atmosphere, and the food was great, and I tend to be very critical when trying new places to eat. With the "mahalo" on the way out the door, pretty much sealed the deal on returning....Thank you for the walk down memory lane.
