Hailing from East Texas and craving authentic Mexican flavors in the heart of West Texas, I took a chance on Candilejas-and wow, did it deliver with generous portions and friendly vibes that made me feel right at home. From Romie's Special to the Gran Burrito Mojado swimming in my choice of chili sauce and veggies, every bite was a fiesta of flavor, even if I had to skip the booze this time around. With salsa that dances on your tongue, attentive service that overcame language barriers, and a cozy atmosphere that feels like grandma's kitchen, this is definitely where my stomach and I will be making regular appearances-next up, the fish plate!
